The Best Kid-Friendly Dining in Helsinki

Eating out is one of my favourite hobbies (can you call it that?!), and I haven’t let having kids slow me down. Thankfully, Finnish society is very kid-friendly, so you can take them pretty much anywhere. But some restaurants are especially accommodating for kids. Here are my top choices:

Via Tribunali
We may as well have this place listed as our permanent address, as we visit almost weekly. They have kids’ pizzas and also give the kids crayons to draw with. The cacio pepe pizza is like nothing I have ever tasted before and a must-try.

📍Sofiankatu 4, 00170 Helsinki

Manala
This place is a Finnish institution. They have all the classics and a super warm, local vibe. Go for the salmon soup and reindeer pizza, stay for the live music.
📍Dagmarinkatu 2, 00100 Helsinki

Woolshed
An Aussie gastro pub is the last thing I expected to see in Helsinki when I moved here, but it exists! We love to go here when we want to watch rugby or dine with the kids. The burgers and steaks are my go-to, as well as the chips and gravy, obviously.
📍Töölönlahdenkatu 3B, 00100 Helsinki

John Scott’s

This place is super cozy with a fireplace and board games, so it is a go-to for us in the colder months. Both the kids’ and adults fish and chips are *chef’s kiss*.
📍Salomonkatu 1, 00100 Helsinki

Haiku Sushi Lasipalatsi

All you can eat sushi buffets are my cost-of-living crisis strategy. My kids are big eaters and their deals and prices (that are according to the kids’ age) are great value for money. Bonus, there is a Moomin store right next door.

📍Mannerheimintie 22-24, 00100 Helsinki
